I will be presenting a conversational topic for the Atlanta Cold Fusion User Group on The Social Media Landscape Wednesday, October 1st. Here is the description of the talk. Let me know if you have any comments or questions. Also, the meeting will be featuring Cameron Childress covering the topic of Design Patterns. Details of his talk are on the ACFUG website.

Ever find yourself being asked or even asking yourself these questions:

Does my application reach the net native generation?
-Aren't net natives programmers that stayed glued to the screen like a locker gnome.

Does your site integrate with the Facebook, Myspace or OpenSocial?
-Ugh, not this media mularkey, isn't that just for creepy stalkers?

Have I been dugg lately?
-My mom digs me but why did you spell dugg wrong?

Am I delicious?
-Only with garlic cloves your creepy emo vampire.

YouTube it to me?
- What? You mean "U-Tube" doesn't mean number one supplier of used Tube, Pipe and Rollform Equipment in the world to everbody anymore?

Tweet? Tweet? Follow Me?
-Follow the birds?? I can't fly. Ack. Whats with all this 2.0 tweeting ringing in my ears?

Cheyenne will guide us through these questions and more on a quick sweeping tour of a variety of new players in the social media market. In this brief overview, we will cover what is different about net native generation (~18-24), how they participate online and why the world cares. In addition, we'll look at this variety of tools and show how they can dramatically change both your professional and personal lives even in just a few short days.

UPDATE: Here is the link to my recorded presentation on Charlie Arehart's UGTV. I didn't know they were recording it so the presentation was done mostly for the people that were there, making this mostly just for your listening pleasure.
