This video presentation was recorded live at Imedex in February 2006, even before Time magazine released their article "Putting the 'We' in Web", which started putting Web 2.0 on a larger map. Fortunately the basics of this presentation are still relevant today. Many thanks to my friends at Imedex for getting me these materials back so that I could post this video again which is back due to its popular demand.

I am still astounded by how many people still are not using RSS, podcasts and social networks in their daily and business routines. Fortunately, some of the ideas and brands mentioned in this video have surfaced as major players. Names like Wikipedia, MySpace, Facebook, YouTube and even Firefox have surfaced as major players in the new socialized web playground. However, I am still seeing more great ideas and brands are surfacing that were covered in this video. To my excitement, I am beginning to get a lot more questions about sites like Digg, Delicious and other social network platforms. Hopefully, those questions can still be answered by this presentation helping even more people understand how to join in on the global conversation adding incredible value to their work and daily lives.

In my opinion, an update is definitely needed that could cover even newer break-through technologies especially in the mobile space with services like Cha Cha, Jott and Utterz. Ning, the platform MohawksRock.com utilizes, puts the power of social networking vertical platforms into the hands of many. Microblogs like Twitter, Pownce, Jaiku and Identi.ca have already begun to change the landscape of communication especially in customer service. Just tweet @comcastcares if your cable has trouble and you will find a profound new customer service service model as corporations pay more attention to a global 1-many transparent communication, even if less than 140 characters, as opposed to the last generation of 1-to-1 bottled up customer communication of hours on the phone.
